Yellow Edo Kimekomi Miffy Doll: A collaboration between Miffy and 280 years of tradition
In Japan, it is customary to display figurines of the year’s zodiac signs as talismans and lucky charms. Mataro doll released Edo Kimekomi Miffy Doll as a zodiac decoration to commemorate the year of the rabbit. The cloth is made of paulownia wood, which is used in traditional crafts. Touso – a material also used in traditional crafts – is used for the base on which the cloth is embedded. Miffy’s clothes are made of a floral fabric, used for traditional Japanese doll costumes.
The Edo Kimekomi Miffy Doll was made using traditional techniques that have been passed down for about 280 years, since the Genbun era of the Edo period.
